  • Severe Weather Procedures

Every attempt will be made to open the school as normal during adverse weather conditions and closing the school will be a last resort. However, in certain circumstances, closing the school may be necessary and more information can be read below.

Procedures for a full or partial closure

Where it is impossible to ensure the health and safety of the children, the Headteacher will make the decision along with the Leadership Team to either close or delay the start of the school day. Wherever possible, any such decision will be made by 7.30am and an announcement to that effect will appear as a pop-up message on the school homepage www.cspacademy.org.uk. Parents will be contacted by the school via email with further information.

Announcements will also be made on the following:

To continue to provide an ambitious and broad curriculum in all subjects and across all year groups of Chalfont St Peter CofE Academy, work will be set for the children on Google Classroom.

Procedures for deteriorating weather throughout the school day

Should the weather deteriorate as the day progresses and parents are concerned about the health & safety of their children, they should use their discretion and, if appropriate, collect them from school.

If the school is concerned about deteriorating weather, we will email you to ask you to collect your child as soon as possible and update the pop-up message on the school website and our school media platforms to this effect. Because of this, parents are asked to ensure their mobile phones are switched on during periods of severe and inclement weather and that you check emails and the school online platforms regularly. We ask that parents do not telephone school to check this as the telephone lines may be needed.

Should you need further clarification of any aspect of the above, please do not hesitate to speak to the School Office.
